Rakestar Arkestra presents: Ra Sugar
Rake-star is an Ottawa collective of adventuresome musicians who gather periodically to plumb the songbook of the great Sun Ra. The newest edition of Rake-star is set for launch as a nine-piece ensemble featuring saxes, keyboards and percussion. For this inaugural outing, and to honour the free spirit of Mr. Ra, the music will be especially unplanned and far-reaching.
