Special Concert/Concert Spécial

IMOO is proud to introduce Linsey Wellman‘s Ephemera: for solo saxophone

  • CD Release – Thursday, November 18th at Club SAW (67 Nicholas)
  • Doors open at 7:00, music at 8:00
  • Tickets $15, available at the door, and in advance at Compact Music (785A and 190 Bank)

Ephemera is a 45 minute meditation for solo alto saxophone, improvised around a diverse set of parameters; different with each performance, but always recognizable.  It can be described as an exploration of texture, timbre, melody and tonal relationships in the ‘free’ music tradition, incorporating approaches to techniques such as circular breathing and multiphonics.  All that being said, it is first and foremost music; the goal of Ephemera is simply to be musical.

This recording was made possible through the assistance of the Canada Music Fund and the Music Section of the Canada Council for the Arts.
Linsey Wellman gratefully acknowledges the financial support of the City of Ottawa.
