Toc is French jazz-core trio founded in 2008
with Jérémie Ternoy on Fender Rhodes, Ivann Cruz on guitar, and Peter
Orins on drums. Playing the density and the organic, daring the trance
in a joyful and catchy tension, Toc provides energetic improvised music.
Noise, post-rock, psychedelic, experimental pop, kraut or jazz
hardcore, difficult to classify the music of this trio as it blurs the
tracks and tries to take us where we did not expect.

Toc plays
regularly in throughout Europe, and has released six CDs: Le Gorille
(Circum-Disc, 2008), You Can Dance (If You Want) (Circum-Disc, 2011) and
Haircut (Circum-Disc/Tandori Records/Besides Records, 2014) in its
electric version ; Qeqertarsuatsiaat (Circum-Disc, 2016) – acoustic ;
Air Bump (Circum-Disc, 2016) with the Compulsive Brass ; and finally
Will Never Play These Songs Again (Circum-Disc 2018)

« (…) this is great stuff, but it’s not for the faint of heart. » Exposé / Peter Thellen

« Now this is just absolutely fabulous. » Wonderful Wooden Reasons / Ian Holloway

« TOC offers a brilliant and inventive blend of genres, sounds and attitudes. » All About Jazz / Eyal Hareuveni

«
So a multisided trio, but on the other hand you feel everything comes
from the same source. Whatever they do, there is some obsessiveness in
their music that makes them a little bit related to Magma and other
Zeuhl-like bands. I had some breathtaking moments during this trip and
felt exhausted at the end, but also deeply satisfied. Chapeau! » Vital
Weekly

« Angular and free in every sense of the word, TOC &
The Compulsive Brass provide a unique, unfamiliar, and welcome take on
modern jazz. Highly recommended. » Avant Music News – Mark Moreno

«
(…) The established interplay of the trio, solidified on previous three
albums of TOC, as well as the extensive experience of the resourceful
Ternoy, Cruz and Orins in many other projects contribute to the success
of this sonic adventure. The trio knows how to sketch multilayered and
intriguing textures that flow organically by their inner logic. (…)
All these pieces sound fresh, eccentric with its inventive approach, but
surprisingly coherent. » Free Jazz Collective – Eyal Hareuveni
