WITCHES’ BUTTER (Kingston Ambient Maximalist Drone)

Artist Bio: David Parker is a musician based in Kingston/Katarokwi. David draws on experiences and involvement in community radio as well as electrical and computer engineering to develop a unique aesthetic that is grounded in community organizing and grassroots music presentation. His influences include cosmic americana, drone, free jazz, folk, and electroacoustic composition. Since the pandemic David has built a recording studio and developed new styles of improvised music for voice, synthesizer, drum machine, harmonica and slide guitar. He directed and co-produced an art film / music documentary that won the award for Best Local Short at the Kingston Canadian Film Festival (2022). The documentary explores the music community on Wolfe Island and improvised music in particular. He is currently organizing a new concert and workshop series for improvised music in Kingston.

Aguma is a Québec duo composed of producers Guillaume Sauvé and Gabriel R. Drapeau. Together, they present us this new collaborative jewel carrying a practice centered on atmospheric explorations based on synthesizers, modulars and other “hardware” machines.

THE CICADA INTERACTIVE SYNTH & GUITAR PEDAL LAB
Twiddle some knobs & make some bleeps & blurps of your own at the Cicada Interactive Synth Lab. Our pals from Cicada Sound will be bringing some fun devices of the modular variety to get your hands on. This time around there will be a focus on GUITAR PEDALS.
CICADA SOUND is an independent music shop for sonic exploration located up the street at 1198 Bank St. They specialize in modular, synths, pedals, desktop, books and more. We also stock a curated collection of gently used gear.
